My resume as a tag cloud

I found out about a great new site called Wordle where you can drop in any text and make a tag cloud. A bunch of people were trying out their resumes … here’s mine.

The kitchen

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Last night, Paul, Luis and I had dinner in the new kitchen. It was our fourth meal there, but it really underscored that Paul and I made all the right choices when designing the kitchen.

I was grilling outside, while Paul set the table and Luis was prepping everything to go on the grill.

We sat down to a nice steak, roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus. An open bottle of Cabernet, a movie playing on the TV, and some great conversation made it all just right.

When did we stop listening?

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Lately, I’ve been observing that we just don’t listen to each other anymore.

We’re so busy waiting for our turns to talk, or so sure that whatever we have to say is right.

We miss things this way.

Customer service personnel miss a chance to put their customers first and leave them delighted.

Teammates lose an opportunity to build trust and improve communication.

Friends feel slighted, betrayed, or forgotten.

I’m trying very hard to listen better. Try with me, please.
