Gingerbread Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 heaping tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 heaping tbsp. ginger
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 3/4 sticks butter, melted
  • 3/4 c. molasses
  • 1 tbsp. grated orange rind
  • 2 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. orange extract
  • 2 eggs
  • raisins (optional)

Step by step

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine dry ingredients.
  • Combine moist ingredients.
  • Mix dry and moist ingredients together.
  • Bake in greased Bundt pan for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes clean.
  • Immediately remove cake from pan.
