Pasta with Sausage and Peppers

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 pounds hot or sweet Italian link sausage
- 1 cup red wine
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 package (12 oz.) Ronzoni Tri-Color Rotini, uncooked
- 2 large red peppers, cut into strips
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesean cheese
Step by step
- Remove and discard sausage casings.
- Cook and stir sausage in skillet over meduim heat until well cooked.
- Drain fat.
- Stir in wine and salt.
- Cook about 10 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
- Remove sausage mixture from skillet and set aside.
- Prepare pasta as directed on package.
- Drain pasta.
- Cook and stir peppers and onion in hot oil until crisp-tender.
- Add garlic and cook 30 seconds longer.
- Return sausage to skillet.
- Add parsley and basil.
- Heat thouroughly.
- Toss sausage mixture with pasta and cheese.
- Makes 6 servings.
